About Kim and Danita

Creativity, design and a love of chocolate brought Danita and Kim together when they first met in sixth grade; they have been friends ever since. Drawing upon their unique backgrounds, they created A Chair to Remember Inc. to bring imported as well as custom-made chair covers and linens to the Edmonton wedding and event market. What was once only offered at events in Europe and the U.S.A is now available through A Chair to Remember.

Kimberly Henke, MBA

Kim’s love for event planning began when she managed events and tournaments at a local golf course, while obtaining her undergraduate degree. She channeled this appetite for event planning and management into business and later obtained her MBA from the University of Alberta. With a professional career in company start-ups and commercial finance, Kim decided it was time to launch her own company and paired up with the most creative and imaginative person she knew – Danita. Together, they are able to provide the missing link to the local bridal/event market – exquisite chair covers and linens with exceptional service.

Danita MacDonald

Growing up, Danita always had a sewing machine threaded and ready to go. She definitely inherited her Grandmother’s talent and passion for fabrics (Grandma was a seamstress who specialized in costuming) and always enjoyed creating something new. Her creative side is well balanced by her love for people, family and helping others. After graduating with her BioMedical Engineering Technology degree, she worked directly in patient care specializing in Sleep Disorders Medicine. The opportunity to provide brides with beautiful linens while also helping to make that wedding day one to remember inspired Danita to create this company with Kim. A Chair to Remember is her creative outlet, allowing her to help others while doing something she truly enjoys.
